#1 Unofficial Facebook Search: Find Public Posts and Profiles
our unofficial Facebook search helps you look up public posts and profiles by name or keyword without signing in to Facebook. It is a search tool, not an API or a data scraper, and it can't open private profiles, messages or friend lists.
Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facebook or Meta Platforms, Inc.
How to use the unofficial Facebook search
- Type a name or keyword. Start with fewer words than you think you need. A short query shows what exists, and you can narrow it afterwards.
- Choose what to look for. Public posts, profiles and Pages, or everything public on Facebook.
- Add an operator if the results are too broad. Use the insert buttons or the field builder. Watch the query update as you type.
- Press Search. The results open in a new tab. Check the name, snippet and date before you click a result.
Facebook may ask you to log in to see a full page. That is Facebook's rule, not something this tool controls.
Search operators that actually help
Operators are small symbols that change how your words are matched. They are the fastest way to go from a thousand vague results to a handful of useful ones. Keep the spacing exactly as shown.
Exact phrase
Quotation marks match the words in that order. "summer food festival" won't match posts that only contain the three words somewhere.
Leave a word out
Put a minus sign right before the word, with a space before it. Denver bakery -wholesale removes results that mention wholesale.
Either word
Type OR in capitals. "street food" OR "food truck" returns results for either phrase.
Name plus one detail
Best for common names. Daniel Kim Seattle photographer. One extra detail usually beats three.

What you can and can't find
| What you're looking for | Can this tool find it? |
|---|---|
| Public posts | Yes, when the post is public and indexed by the search engine you pick |
| Public profiles | Yes, if the person's settings allow it to be found |
| Public Pages (businesses, brands, public figures) | Yes |
| Private profiles or posts | No |
| Messages and private groups | No |
| Friend lists | No |
Nothing on this page can get around someone's privacy settings. Be careful with any site that says it can show private profiles, especially one that asks for your Facebook password.
Privacy, safety and responsible use
This page builds your query in your browser. The last few searches are kept in your browser's local storage so you can repeat them, and they aren't sent to our servers by this tool. When you press Search, the search engine you chose receives the query and applies its own privacy policy. [CONFIRM: add anything else your site collects, such as analytics.]
Please don't use it to follow, pressure or harass anyone. Public information can still cause harm when it is collected around one person, and laws differ between countries.
If your own content shows up and you want it gone, the fix is at the source: change the audience setting on the post or profile in Facebook's privacy settings, or delete it [CONFIRM URL: Facebook Help Center]. To report misuse of this tool, contact [CONTACT EMAIL].
Frequently asked questions
Can I search Facebook without logging in?
Yes, for public content. You don't need a Facebook account to use this tool. Facebook itself may ask you to sign in when you open a result, and some pages show limited information to logged-out visitors.
Can this tool show private profiles?
No. Private profiles, private groups, messages and friend lists are not accessible, and no legitimate tool can change that. A site claiming otherwise is wrong or wants your login details.
How do I find someone on Facebook by name?
Enter their full name and add one detail, such as a city, school or employer. If they keep their profile private, they won't appear.
How do I exclude words from the results?
Put a minus sign directly before the word, with a space before the minus. For example, Denver bakery -wholesale. Repeat the pattern to leave out more than one word, or use the "Leave out" field.
Is this an unofficial Facebook API?
No. It is a search page for people, not a developer API or a bulk data tool. You type a name or phrase and read the public results.
Why did my search return no results?
Usually the content isn't public, the spelling differs, or the query has too many operators. Try a shorter query, alternate spellings, or a name with one detail. Deleted posts can take time to disappear from results.
